Job Description
Peterson Trucks has a need for a Truck Sales Representative based at our Santa Rosa, CA location.
SUMMARY
The Truck Sales Representative will solicit commercial truck sales business from assigned accounts and/or through personal and phone contacts.
The Representative maintains close liaison and frequent communications with customers and works to develop new business.
The Truck Sales Representative coordinates and cooperates with several departments to accomplish job.

Understand and meet the customers’ specific needs, maintaining customer satisfaction by growing and promoting business relations with existing and new accounts.
Visit customers at their sites to make sales calls; develop and present sales proposals to customers.
Have current product knowledge on features and benefits of all truck offerings.
Manage interdepartmental activities throughout the sales process.
Maintain and apply current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used equipment.
Coordinate service work with the service department.
Deliver vehicles to customers as needed.
Continually gather information on local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within the region; communicate information to management and others as needed.
Participate in sales blitzes, open house, and sales programs.
Attend and participate in strategic sales meetings.
Attend and participate in business/trade events that impact business unit.
Up to 10% of time will be spent in overnight travel.
Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain and submit necessary paperwork and reports in a timely and complete manner, such as sales calls and expense reports, etc.
Document and inform the Sales Manager of potential process improvements.
Cooperate, communicate, and work closely with sales and other personnel.
Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college; and a minimum of three years of directly related experience, preferably in selling or managing in the medium/heavy duty commercial truck or construction equipment industry; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to obtain a class A or B commercial driver license, and Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card within a year of hire date.
The pay for this position is: $40,000.
This job also participates in a Commission Plan.
We offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
