org/about-us/careers-sfpuc Job Description The Principal Administrative Analyst, Public Records will have a strong working knowledge of the California Public Records Act and the San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance.
Working knowledge of NextRequest or a similar software system is preferred.
The Analyst will communicate with requestors for clarification when needed and collaborate with necessary parties to coordinate a timely and appropriate response.
Prior to release, the Analyst will determine whether any exemptions are necessary, redact records, and prepare appropriate redaction and exemption logs.
The Analyst will also be the main point of contact for the Sunshine Ordinance Task Force and will serve as the SFPUC representative at any scheduled Sunshine Ordinance Task Force and Committee proceedings.
This position contributes to the development and implementation of records related policies and best practices.
The Analyst will supervise a team supporting public records, the Citizens Advisory Committee, operations, and other projects as needed.
The Analyst will be responsible for not only public records administration but in team management and the evaluation, assessment, development, and implementation of recommendations to ensure the efficacy of the SFPUC's public records systems.
This will require comprehensive and data-based evaluation of the current public records management system, as well as coordination with upper-level leadership across the agency.
Essential Duties: Public Records Management: Review of public records requests and communication with requestors Maintenance of the public records data system, Next Request Facilitate coordination with key stakeholders across the SFPUC regarding the identification of responsive records Proactively identify potential problems, risks or impediments and problem-solve accordingly Evaluate, assess, and develop and implement recommendations to ensure the efficacy of SFPUC's public records systems Supervise a small team to support in public records management, as well as other work including the Citizen Advisory Committee Attend and present at Sunshine Ordinance Task Force meetings as needed Other related duties as required May be required to work nights and/or weekends.
Qualifications Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; Experience: Five (5) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level analytical work.
Qualifying professional-level analytical work includes analysis, development, administration, and reporting in major programs and functions of an organization in the areas of budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in the 182X Class series.
Substitution: Possession of a graduate degree (Master's degree or higher) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in specialized subject matter areas such as public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other fields of study closely related to the essential functions of positions in the Class series may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of 2 years).
Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
