Job Summary The Co-Director of Grants is responsible for developing and managing a pipeline of current and prospective grant funders that align with IIBA’s priorities.
Through planned research, identification, development, cultivation, stewardship, compliance, and reporting activities, the Co-Director will submit proposals and manage awards in support of IIBA’s mission and operating goals.
The Co-Director of Grants position will work in partnership with IIBA’s current Director of Grants.
The Co-Director roles will be responsible for the overall management of IIBA’s multiple grant programs.
This includes the effective oversight of IIBA’s government and foundation contracts and grant awards.
This position will primarily focus on the management and acquisition of foundation grants.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Report to the Executive Director and work closely with the current Director of Grants Manage and inform strategy to develop strong, expanding pipelines of grant-based donors for IIBA programs.
Track and monitor annual revenue goals for grants and provide financial updates and recommendations for annual budget development.
Analyze grant funding trends to identify growing programs, opportunities for increased funding, and areas in need of greater development.
Conduct internal and external research to identify funding opportunities with foundations, governmental agencies, corporate, and community-based funding organizations.
Cultivate, manage, and maintain relationships with organizational funders and stakeholders through targeted and strategic outreach, interpretation, and stewardship.
Develop grant-based opportunities with appropriate internal teams and coordinate project plans to ensure adequate reporting and compliance per funder guidelines.
Monitor application and reporting timelines and communicate them interdepartmentally to ensure we are meeting funder deadlines and requirements.
Write grant proposals, letters of interest/inquiry, concept papers, and related materials for proposal submissions that align with IIBA’s programs and priorities.
Prepare strategic program and project budgets in collaboration with internal staff and approved by departmental leadership.
Work with the Director of Grants to ensure oversight for all grant contractual, fiscal, and program documentation, including site visits and monitoring.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement plans in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, applicable laws, regulations and standards.
Support renewal grant applications and reporting.
Grant Administration & Compliance Assist with establishing and maintaining administrative systems necessary for the agency to comply with the terms and conditions of all grants, contracts and MOUs.
Review grants, contracts and MOUs and any associated amendments to assist with the negotiation of terms and conditions as needed.
Review contractual requirements, audit records and other documentation to ensure compliance with funding body requirements; i.

, conduct audits and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner.
Ensure all reports are prepared and submitted on schedule.
Act as a liaison with Grantors regarding reporting.
Attend meetings with Grantors regarding contractual requirements as needed.
Periodically review and recommend ways to improve policies and procedures regarding contracts and grants administration.
Assist with training program staff associated with contract implementation, management and reporting on compliance procedures and internal controls.
Provide periodic quantitative and qualitative reports to staff on all contracts.
Assist in developing solutions to address any issues identified during monitoring visits or audits.
Work with IIBA staff to ensure they are informed of the requirements of grant contracts and assist in advising on how best to navigate any necessary changes through communication with funders.
Maintain and manage complete records and files in accordance with IIBA’s record-keeping policies, related to past, present, and prospective grant- based donor engagement which includes funder and proposal information, contracts, paperwork and key documentation.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position may have supervisory responsibilities of staff, volunteers, and interns.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 3- 5 year experience in grants management in a non-profit environment with a focus on foundation and government grants and contracts.
Demonstrated ability to independently identify and successfully apply for government contracts and grants.
Familiarity with government funding at the local, state and federal level.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to manage multiple projects, timelines, and teams effectively.
Understanding of best practices and methods to achieve revenue goals, overall grant based donor strategies and effective communication of the mission.
Knowledge of the basic concepts related to fundraising and grant management.
Able to adapt to a changing environment and remain flexible.
Excellent initiative and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Able to respond quickly and effectively to the needs of the IIBA team, partners, donors, stakeholders and other groups.
Able to collaborate with diverse teams of staff, interns, volunteers and stakeholders.
Excellent computer skills.
Detail-oriented, with strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
Able to represent the IIBA in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Able to listen attentively to others and ask clarifying questions to gain a better understanding of the other person’s views and assumptions.
Able to read and interpret documents such as professional reports, publications, laws and regulations, procedure manuals, project proposals and presentations.
Able to effectively and concisely present information, speak before different groups, and respond to questions from the general public, funding partners, other donors/stakeholders and coworkers.
Participation in joint problem-solving and cooperation with co-workers.
Identification and utilization of opportunities for personal and professional development Preparedness and punctuality for meetings prepared and on time, honoring work commitments, and meeting deadlines.

Salary/Benefits In the spirit of pay transparency, the salary range for the Co-Director of Grants role is $86,000 to $126,000.
If you are hired at IIBA, your final salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full salary range for the role.
Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
