No two days at RALLY are the same, but your day might start with presenting brand concepts to a client, followed by a feedback meeting with a junior designer to align on design direction for a social media campaign, before you dive into research for a new website.
On another day, you might give a staff presentation on design fundamentals before shifting gears to prepare for a discussion with a new client on their brand goals.
The Senior Designer will lead projects from concept to production, working closely with teams of digital strategists, consultants, and other creative professionals.
They must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
The Senior Designer will also drive art direction within complex design projects, including managing and mentoring junior designers, overseeing feedback, and presenting to account teams and to clients.
Ideal candidates will have strong project management skills and deep understanding of branding, web design, and print and digital media.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Design Proficiency + Innovation: Create compelling visual narratives that communicate stories and strategies, and inspire change and deepen the impact of our engagements; Create a wide variety of design projects for new and existing campaigns across a number of mediums, including direct mail, presentations, posters, newsletters, emails, banner ads, social media graphics, website layouts, and others; Lead the development of new brand identities, expressions, and assets for clients; Execute the visual ‘look and feel’ of an existing campaign across several account teams; Develop direct response marketing materials, with knowledge of best practices for designing landing pages, advertisements, and other materials that drive conversion; Collaborate with video producers to create storyboards and design still assets for video projects; Look out into the world for design and experiential inspiration, and bring that inspiration back to RALLY and for our clients; Implement forward-thinking design to achieve clients’ goals for diverse audiences, including the general public, media, political decision-makers, and other stakeholders; Show initiative by taking on new projects and actively growing new skill sets; Pay close attention to design details and be an advocate for exceptional visual design; Client Management: Work directly with clients to communicate process and timeline steps, present design work, and provide guidance for feedback; Team Collaboration + Management: Manage junior designers and provide art direction on collaborative accounts; Communicate and collaborate with RALLY teams to originate creative as well as to refine and make rounds of corrections based on internal and client feedback; Prioritize and manage multiple design projects simultaneously, often with very quick turnarounds; Provide guidance and day-to-day supervision for assigned client accounts, including junior staff mentorship, supervision, and oversight of work product quality; Participate in a team-based environment, inspiring teams through collaboration as well as offering guidance and support on visioning and planning all aspects of visual deliverables; Internal RALLY Team Contributions: Pursue your professional development plan developed in collaboration with your supervisor and mentor; Contribute to strategic design growth and brand positioning for the firm overall; Be capable of keeping up with the cadence of the team’s billable hourly quotas, while also contributing to the team with creative strategies to meet design profitability goals; Participate in scoping design projects, manage and track hours against project budgets both individually and collectively to ensure projects are completed within pricing estimates.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related area; 3-5 years of related experience (this can include internships, freelance work, academic work, etc.
); Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates expertise across branding, web design, and a full range of digital and print projects.
Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
Knowledge of typography and a keen eye for color and detail; Ability to follow technology trends, current visual techniques, and social media design tendencies; Familiarity with the intricacies of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram; Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams; Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and manage technical challenges effectively; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Experience with user interface design and web wireframing and familiarity with Content Management Systems like WordPress; Experience with campaign design is a plus: direct mail, short term campaign brand work, quick turnarounds Email marketing platforms like MailChimp and experience designing for mass email campaigns; Experience in the issue advocacy space and using design to advance progressive issues Mandatory Hybrid Work Environment: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a hybrid work model, with a commitment to attending the office 2 days per week.
Additionally, team-members are required to participate in a four-day in-office work week, four times throughout the year.
