The Fund Development Department at GLIDE is responsible for raising approximately $33M in annual revenue from public and private sources.
The department is divided into six teams; Major Giving, Annual Fund, Planned Giving, Institutional Giving, Development Operations and Fundraising Events.
GLIDE's Fund Development department operates with an asset based, trauma informed, anti-black racism lens and actively supports donor-partner education and engagement to further the movement for social justice in the nonprofit sector and beyond.
The Institutional Giving Manager is responsible for ensuring institutional funders are inspired by GLIDE’s mission and vision and are actively engaged in funding the advancement of GLIDE’s goals.
Under the direction of the Director, Institutional Partnerships, this person strengthens the Institutional Giving Program by stewarding a portfolio of corporate, foundation and government funders, diversifying giving prospects through prospect research and cultivation, creating strategic and targeted proposals, letters of inquiry and reports to support programmatic and unrestricted funding.

This person is expected to develop a strong understanding of GLIDE, its mission and values, actively participate in the ethos and culture of GLIDE, and maintain collaborative working relationships with Fund Development colleagues as well as with Program staff.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Help develop annual strategy, plan and implement GLIDE’s institutional giving program, and manage donor activities.
Build and strengthen relationships with an assigned portfolio of prospects to increase likelihood of obtaining and maintaining funding, including developing and implementing donor stewardship and cultivation strategies and activities.
Research and summarize grant opportunities from various sources that match the goals and objectives of the organization.
Coordinate and write grant proposals, related budgets, letters of inquiry, and reports for corporate, foundation and government grants.
Attend bidder’s conferences as needed.
Develop donor and prospect briefings to support GLIDE Leadership and Board Members in approaching, developing, and maintaining key institutional funding relationships.
Oversee all records related to funded grants in the assigned portfolio and maintenance of a detailed grants calendar.
Collect, process and maintain foundation donor and prospect information as well as all contacts, stewardship activities, proposals, and gifts in Salesforce.
Education and Experience Requirements:
BA degree and 3+ years experience in institutional giving, cultivation and solicitation, preferably in social services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Outstanding stewardship and relationship management skills with meticulous follow-through.
Experience developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.

Has record of building donor relationships with a proven track record of maintaining effective relationships with institutional funders;
Capital campaign experience;
Knowledge of Bay Area and national institutional funders that emphasize giving preferences aligned with GLIDE’s work.
