Manager, Copy owns the brand voice for all Janie and Jack marketing needs and sits within the Brand Creative team.
Brand Creative is responsible for omnichannel seasonal campaign development and creative marketing for all print assets such as windows and in-store marketing, direct mail, product packaging, marketing partnerships, and PR seeding packages.
The Sr.
Manager, Copy also manages and helps write copy for digital assets, including email campaigns, site creative, product descriptions, paid ads and organic social.
In this role, you should be passionate about leading and inspiring a small team of copywriters, jumping in and writing yourself.
You should provide project management for your team and creative partners as needed.
The Sr.
Manager, Copy reports to the VP of Brand Creative.
What you’ll do: Contribute to brand standards and deliver copy in the right voice with consistency.
Understand and develop a balance of creative and strategic messaging.
Push the Janie and Jack voice and storytelling forward, coming up with fresh ideas and elevating to the next level.
Delegate, mentor, and manage the time of the copy team.
Write, edit, and proofread with exceptional attention to detail.
Researches and suggests new topics, projects, and campaigns.
Build strong relationships with the Graphic Designers, the Creative Director, and cross-functional partners (E-Commerce, Marketing, Merchandising, Product Design, etc.
).
Stay on top of all projects across channels that impact your team and all things brand related.
Keep the VP of Brand Creative updated on project status, initiatives, and key issues.
Reviews existing library of content including marketing and social media messaging; makes recommendations to improve content quality, voice, audience engagement, and other relevant metrics.
Develops, or requests data on, qualitative and quantitative metrics and parameters useful for assessing the efficacy of content.
Assists with development of a unified style guide.
Assists with creation of an internal content calendar.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years professional copywriting experience in print and digital.
Experience managing, developing, and advocating for a team of writers.
Willing to lean in on where gaps are noticed or where work needs to be done.
Not only a copywriter but needs to understand how ideas and concepts are briefed & ability to be resourceful, obtaining information needed to complete an assigned task.
Demonstrated experience in creating campaigns and writing impactful, creative copy.
New ideas around problem-solving with strong organizational skills.
Retail experience in fashion and apparel is required.
Understand of digital and creative tenants.
Firm understanding of retail best practices, what is happening in the marketplace and copy trends.
Ability to deliver error-free copy under tight deadlines and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to be flexible through changes in strategy while keeping a healthy morale.
Familiarity with Airtable or similar project management platforms.
An understanding of SEO and SMS best practices is preferred.
