The Business Development team is responsible for deal structuring, negotiation, client relationship management and public communication within the context of our projects.
Individuals in this group are responsible for developing strategies for targeting clients, building organizational partnerships and strategic alliances with non-profits, regional organizations, and technology accelerators, and working with client executives from project conceptualization through to construction and implementation.
This position will sit in Oakland and will report to the Regional Sales Manager.

All employees at ENGIE have both a duty and the authority to STOP WORK if unsafe acts are observed What you’ll do: Support demand creation sales approach and overall go-to-market strategy related activities Lead and/or participate in development of new market strategies and initiatives to support designated growth areas Assist the group in higher-quality client targeting and customer outreach to support lead generation, the acceleration of pipeline development, and the shortening of the sales cycle through improved value propositions, strategies, and positioning.
Responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of field sales personnel through sales competency development, active collaboration with sales leadership, and strategic sales enablement initiatives.
Work with the Business Development Team and selected political consultants to target key accounts in the region, map the politics of the account to identify the right people to meet with and in what order, understand what motivates the different stakeholders and understand what issues the client organization faces now and will face in the future so that the team can develop the most meaningful value proposition.
Priorities include, but not limited to sales competency development, regional campaign development and execution, attending field events in concert with Business Development Managers, and live deal support.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, project finance, our STEM education team, and operations Carries out other duties as assigned What you bring: Bachelor’s degree in related field required A minimum of two (2) years of business experience working in business development, strategy, finance, or management consulting Interest in sustainability strategies, energy efficiency, and renewable energy and passion to serve others and make a difference Track record of project managing and owning sales/marketing initiatives to achieve quantitative performance metrics Excellent time management, decision-making, interpersonal, presentation, organizational and problem-solving skills Demonstrated thought leadership, intellectual rigor and curiosity Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills; copy writing and editing experience preferred Excellent customer service skills Ability to meet short deadlines in fast-paced, team-oriented environment Additional Information/Conditions: Ability to meet highest attendance requirements Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy Ability to use a computer, calculator, etc.
