Associate Director/Director, Business Development is a highly collaborative, influential, and experienced leader responsible for helping to develop CareDx’s core business strategies and accelerating the company’s growth through internal and external means.
This position will support the development of products and services across multiple business areas, including cell therapies, molecular diagnostics, laboratory services, digital services and digital products.
This role will work closely with CareDx’s executive leadership, as well as partners, and external key opinion leaders to drive innovative solutions for the patients that we serve.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in diagnostics, medical devices, therapeutics, healthcare services and/or digital health technologies.
The ideal candidate will also have a track-record of sourcing, proposing, structuring, and executing transactions across, and/or significant experience development business plans / business strategy for companies, products, services in these areas.
Responsibilities:
Administer and implement the business development strategies and tactics for the company
Own business case development, term sheet negotiation, due diligence, and execution
Source and lead research and clinically focused transactions with pharmaceutical biotech companies and academic institutions
Help develop product expansion strategy, supporting business case development, term sheet negotiation, due diligence, and execution
Secure strategic partnerships, paving way for scaled-up transactions and transition to the commercial organization
Actively partner with business function leaders including Commercial, R&D, Clinical Affairs, Marketing, and Finance ensure a thorough evaluation of potential opportunities
Actively partner with business unit leaders (e.
g.
, diagnostics, digital) to help develop overall business unit strategies
Qualifications:
Associate Director: 5-7 years of experience / Director: 8+ progressive years of strategy, corporate development and/or business development experience, ideally in healthcare, including pharmaceutical, biotech, med device, hospital health system or diagnostics
BS/BA in Biological sciences or related field; MBA is a plus
Track record of closing deals and relevant transaction execution
Technical understanding of diagnostics, medical devices, therapeutics, healthcare services and/or digital products
Knowledge of molecular biology, immunology, genetics, bioinformatics, NGS is helpful
Energetic, resourceful, self-starter with high integrity, strong executive presence, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Passion for improving patient outcomes
A strategic thinker with outstanding business instincts, who can help chart the course and translate into actionable, value-creating results
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to make sound business judgments
An ability to embrace teamwork and collaboration
Ability and willingness to travel
An outstanding communicator with great business instincts who can help chart the course and translate R&D innovation into actionable, value-creating partnership
Strong presentation and financial analytical skills
Experience in molecular diagnostics is a plus
Experience in strategy consulting is a plus
