OBJECTIVE:
A Contractor Salesperson should have repeat customers, larger accounts, more product knowledge, advanced pricing capabilities, continually work on business development, and meet a higher level of sales results than a typical counter salesperson.
Contractor Sales are to be efficient and effective in the selling process while building and maintaining strong relationships with as many customers as possible.
The goal is always to keep the customer coming back.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide GREAT customer service.
Respond to customers promptly and professionally.
Answer the phone promptly and professionally.
Return all callbacks immediately.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate GP% on all orders while staying competitive in the market.
Stay up on market trends and commodity pricing.
Getting deposits on all cash special orders.
(minimum 50%)
For any account where credit will not cover the total or is not in good standing, get payment prior to delivery.
Process all estimates, orders, and special orders in a correct and timely fashion.
Invoice orders in a timely manner after product has been picked up or delivered.
Read and enforce all customer account notes and information in the customer’s account.
Communicate with buyers as needed to ensure stock levels are satisfactory.
Provide complete and correct paperwork for receiving.
Communicate clearly with the dispatcher and provide complete and correct paperwork for all deliveries; the vendor will call and credit pickups.
Follow through with all appropriate coworkers and vendors when credit returns if special orders are involved.
Get confirmations on special orders, review and update the purchase order to match.
Review, update, process, and follow up on all your open orders by checking your Order Viewer multiple times daily.
Be proactive on following up on estimates provided to customers.
Continue expanding product knowledge.
Give input on the procurement of new items.
Follow through with addressing any problems promptly and get the Sales Manager involved if needed.
Keep current on all reports, including delivery dates, credits, missing deposits, OK to fills, etc.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit/stand for 8 hours per day.
Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.

Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs.
Horizontal reaching is required.
All mobility motions are required (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing).
Limited range of motion and physical activity occurring randomly for 8 or more hours per day.
