SFCM is seeking to hire a Stewardship & Donor Relations Coordinator to foster deep and meaningful connections between the Conservatory and its many supporters.
A member of a 12-person Advancement team, in this role, you will help shape and implement short- and long-term stewardship, recognition, and donor engagement plans, maximizing the ability of the Advancement team to demonstrate the impact of philanthropy build quality relationships with SFCM’s annual, major, principal and planned gift donors.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Advancement Operations, the Stewardship & Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for collaborating across fundraising divisions to provide engagement touchpoints for donors at all levels and for working in partnership with Gift Officers to execute personalized stewardship for SFCM’s most generous supporters.
Requirements: Stewardship & Donor Engagement Strategy & Execution Create and activate a comprehensive stewardship strategy that identifies distinct and creative opportunities for donor acknowledgement, recognition, and engagement and demonstrates the impact of gifts at all levels Empower Gift Officers to develop and implement customized stewardship plans for major and principal gift donors Draft and compile annual endowment and scholarship reports for individual and family foundation donors Collaborate with the Donor Experience and Events team to manage individual visits and large-scale stewardship events, such as behind-the-scenes tours, concerts, and master classes Coordinate the production of stewardship mailings and digital communications including holiday cards, birthday cards, first-time donor cards and e-newsletters.
Provide support to the Director of Proposal Development and Advancement Communications Annual impact report Ensuring appropriate donor recognition throughout the Bowes Center and 50 Oak facility, including administering signage and adhering to recognition standards Foster strong collaboration with academic and program partners for the purpose of tracking and reporting on impact Champion best practices and create institutional resources for strong stewardship and engagement Executive Office Donor Relations Compose personalized correspondence from the President and Vice President of Advancement to donors, such as sympathy letters or letters of congratulations Tracking actions and follow up in donor relation strategies, monitoring the moves management process and providing follow up after all donor meetings for the Vice President of Advancement.
Data & Operations Manage and execute SFCM’s donor acknowledgement process including generating acknowledgement letters in a timely fashion, ensuring that messaging templates are updated periodically and gift records are accurate Serve as the main point of contact for gift in kind inquiries and liaise with faculty on gift acceptance Oversee print donor recognition listings, including those in concert program books, on the SFCM website, and in the annual impact report and ensure accuracy in the database Provide data accountability for recognition in RE (membership module) Receive cross training on gift processing The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Minimum three (3) years’ experience in nonprofit development, with a focus on donor relations.
Exemplary diplomacy, problem-solving, customer service, and teamwork skills.
Superior attention to detail, as well as superb written and oral communication skills.
High level of organizational ability; ability to set priorities and meet deadlines and work collaboratively to manage projects.
A working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT database or similar CRM is highly desirable.
Experience with ThankView and Blackbaud Award Management or similar platforms is a plus Comfortable and effective working in a fast paced, donor-focused environment, successfully collaborating with team members and managing a variety of projects with limited supervision.
Experience in higher education and/or performing arts preferred, interest in and passion for music a plus.
A bachelor’s degree is required.
