Overview:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new leads in the Business Travel, Group, and Catering segments by locating, developing, and defining business relationships.
Responsibilities:
Maintain strong relationship between clients and Sales partners.
Solicit and negotiate business with new and existing clients through various efforts.
Participate in regular sales calls and daily prospecting for business referrals and networking.
Develop sales opportunities with strategic internal and external partners.
Develop and sustain relationships with clients and property sales.
Excellent understanding of selling tools, hotel sale’s systems, and business intelligence systems.
Maintain global understanding of property meeting space, outlets, and venue capabilities for rooms and events.
Maintaining current data in databases.
Manage and communicate project status and complete necessary paperwork.
Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
Builds market position by locating, developing, and defining business relationships.
Tracks individual contributors and their accomplishments.
Locates or proposes potential business opportunities.
Discovers and explores business opportunities.
Screens potential business leads by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials.
Understanding of basic sales techniques and customer service.
Maintain a complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
Maintain positive guest relations.
Represent the hotel with prospective customers to provide necessary information on hotel facilities and services and determine levels of interest.
Formulates program and submits hotel information to prospective customers.
Effectively introduces sales managers for qualified business opportunities.
Qualifications:
Two (2) years of college courses or similar work in a related field preferred.
Two (2) years’ experience in a sales role preferred.
Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Long hours, varying schedule and hours, nights and weekends as needed.
Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000/yr.
