This is an exciting time in the hotel’s history – you should be part of it! The Director of Business Travel Sales will be responsible for announcing and telling the story of a newly branded and completely renovated/transformed luxury hotel in downtown San Francisco; soliciting, maintaining, and overseeing all sales-related activities in the individual travel segments (Luxury Travel Agencies, Consortia, Business Travel, Wholesale and Leisure).
Focus on building long-term relationships with travel industry partners in their assigned market sources to meet and/or exceed the hotel’s transient revenue goals and maximum potential.
*Responsibilities* * Must possess and amazing positive attitude and willingness to embrace new paths * Experience in both high end-luxury leisure travel and business travel in the San Francisco Market * An eagerness and thirst to position the hotel first within the market * Open to embracing and learning new methods and strategies and the ability to share their own experiences * Ability to understand, develop and execute complex business strategies * Must possess excellent communication, follow up, and organizational * Sets high personal performance expectations * Must be proactive and have a creative, positive, and focused approach * Maintain confidentiality and sensitive information * Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office with strong attention to detail * Confidence in their skills and the ability to apply them in a dynamic environment * Establish goals and objectives for department * Well organized, focused and complete all work assigned * Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team * Partner with DOSM to build morale and promote positive employee engagement * Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve standards of operations * Ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, correspondence, reports, and memos * Ability to present information and communicate verbally and electronically with clients, guests, management and co-workers * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions * Ability to understand guest service needs *Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree preferred.
* 3+ years of past hotel sales experience required * Hotel experience required * Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers of the hotel.
* Must have experience in business travel at a similar size and quality hotel.
* Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.
* Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
