About the Role The Assistant Manager of Online Operations exemplifies diverse operational and management skills to support the promo operations for Old Navy’s e-commerce channel in support of the Commercial Plan, Topline Promotions and Today Only Deals.
In this role you’ll be responsible for the front-end customer experience and product & tools management, blending art & science and delivering flawless execution.
You’ll be a key member of the Old Navy Online Operations team, supporting strategies set by Online Experience and Innovation teams and partnering with Content Production, Photo Studio teams and Product Management to deliver a best in-class shopping experience visited by a million people each day.
You’ll become an expert in utilizing and navigating our product-to-site pipeline, our product management tools, as well as managing a substantial volume of executional tasks within a fast-paced environment.
You will focus on site execution, within alignment of product and marketing initiatives.
In addition, you will manage quality assurance on promotions and product attributes from back-end tool-related tasks to customer facing marketing flags.
As the visual merchandiser of the online store, you’ll ensure we align our category navigation experience to the design intent, partnering with Online Experience on key product initiatives.
Utilizing 3rd party vendor relationships & tools to manage personalized product recommendations, outfitting templates, and support internal search and SEO initiatives as needed.

Execute product pinning and dynamic boosting in support of the Commercial Plan.
Responsible for thorough QA and review of site experience, including site content linking, marketing flags/tags, PDPs, PLPs, and checkout behavior.
Create visually compelling and business driving merchandise sorts supporting Today Only Deals and the Commercial Plan.
Execute initial product setup, product go live, and web mapping ensuring accuracy and high-quality work across the site, with an understanding of its impact on the customer experience.
Deactivateeactivate marketing styles according to inventory positioning as needed for business.
Liaise with cross-functional partners to update and troubleshoot products tied to promotional events.
Troubleshoot problems and influence resolution across functions.
Produce work that is efficient, accurate and detail oriented.
Ensure accuracy and high-quality work across the site, with an understanding of its impact on the customer experience.
Execute third party vendor technologies, including product recommendations, personalized merchandising, on site and third-party search results, and outfitting templates and galleries.
Support inventory management team’s in-season business reaction with changes to categories, styles or style/color display, and new product category sorts.
Articulate areas of opportunity across tools and processes, identify creative solutions to solve challenges.
Understand the nuances of customer device type (desktop, mobile, app) and execute site against the optimal experience.
Support site review meetings to discuss upcoming product flows and product collections.
Acts as after-hours support on high-priority execution issues; hind-sighting and communicating with team leads on root cause.
Who You Are Strong working knowledge of site merchandising and operations processes, including direct experience with PIM systems and tools and technology.
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with some project management experience.
An eagerness to learn how the “machine” is run! Excellent oral/written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills to effectively work across all levels of the organization.
1-2 years of ecommerce, retail or merchandising experience.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Familiarity with fashion/online retail space a plus Strong computer skills, in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, Outlook helpful.
