At Databricks, the copy editor’s function is to shape, simplify and elevate our copy while also ensuring that content meets our brand guidelines and is consistent and error-free.
You’ll maintain the highest possible standards and join an editorial team of globally focused copywriters and editors who are charged with building the brand voice of the company — from project kickoff to hindsight.
The Brand and Creative team works across most projects at Databricks — from our brand voice and website to events, email, customer marketing, eBooks, campaign graphics, presentations, recruiting and sales materials, thought leadership pieces and printed collateral.
We take pride in crafting world-class and user-friendly experiences for data teams of all levels and career stage, from interns and practitioners to CIOs and CDOs.
Standard Hours Per Week - 20.
00 hours first month, then will increase till 40 hours.
Roles & Responsibilities * Drive consistency and quality of Databricks content * Edit copy decks for clarity, grammar, speed, logical flow and consistency * Ensure copy follows our brand guidelines, tone and style and has the correct spelling, syntax, capitalization and punctuation * Partner with copywriters and other content producers across Databricks to revise copy as needed and efficiently move content through the workflow process * Collaborate with the Brand and Creative team on projects * Make final adjustments to content and sync edits across applications (Asana, Figma, Slack, Google Workspace, Pastel) to ensure the copy deck is the source of truth for the team * Proofread copy decks, digital assets and other content as needed Minimum Qualifications * 10+ years of professional experience in an advertising agency or corporate marketing department * Demonstrated ability to pivot between assignments and handle fast turnaround times * Extensive experience with The Associated Press Stylebook as well as The Chicago Manual of Style * Experience working with tech clients, particularly cloud software companies, preferred * Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload, collaborating with writers, designers and project managers at various stages of content development * Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills * Familiarity with both web and print publishing processes and procedures Job Type: Contract Pay: $65.
