DISCLAIMER- this cat is not going to be given to just anybody.
Pls read the entire listing to understand the reason for title.
If you’re that animal flipper in San Pablo don’t bother reaching out.
Cashew is his name.
My family rescued him as a kitten.
We fostered him through a rescue and he was adopted by my mom’s previous coworker.
He lived with this girl for 1 year and he loved his owner so very much.
Unfortunately, this young woman’s life changed and she needed to give Cashew back because her housing situation was unstable.
I’m not sure what ended up happening to her housing but she was adamant she could not bring Cashew where she was going.
I took Cashew into my home to temporarily foster him until I could find a new home.
Cashew unfortunately did not get along with my cats so it made everyone in the house really stressed but I waited patiently for a new adopter to come along.
I took Cashew to an adoption event in San Rafael and an older woman adopted him.
Unfortunately her son moved in with her and he brought two older, very docile cats.
Cashew was not raised with litter mates and did not properly socialise as a kitten so he doesn’t really recognize boundaries with other cats.
He chases and bites and other cats may not like that.
I believe the many changes he’s experienced in less than one year (from one adopter, to temporary foster, to new adopter and new cats etc) has affected Cashew.
He did really well with one other cat I fostered who was a very, very active young male cat.
They’d chase each other all day.
He either needs to be an only cat or go to a home with a super active and super tolerant young male cat.
Cashew isn’t perfect.
He gets overstimulated.
But I think a young adult with a stable home could be the perfect fit.
His current owner is discussing taking him to the humane society where they told them he’d be euthanized.
Cashew isn’t even 2 years old.
His better qualities are that he’s devoted to his human.
He loves to be present with his person and lounge around with you.
He yearns for affection.
He’s silly and goofy.
Is there someone out there for Cashew? Will someone take pity on this poor cat? I am so disappointed for him.
Two owners have abandoned him now.
And my home wasn’t a place where he was happy either.
I am only a foster- I cannot keep him.
I have SIX cats already.
Can someone help? He does NOT deserve this.
