Position Summary: Bay FC is seeking a licensed and trained security professional to support the First Team.
In this role, you will provide for the welfare, physical protection, and security of a high-profile NWSL team and its players, technical staff, and support staff during unarmed executive protection assignments.
In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of team physical spaces at home and on the road.
Key Responsibilities: Provide close protection and other security-related functions for the players, technical staff, and support staff during training sessions, home games, away matches, and other events.
Lead counter surveillance operations prior to away matches for venues, lodging, and airports.
Perform protective advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments.
In transit of away matches, ensure the safety and security of the players, technical staff, and support staff in airports, lodging, and events, using local law enforcement, as needed in the event of a credible threat.
Collaborate with stadium security during events.
Event security will manage all field and tunnel-related matters and you as Team Security will manage all matters in the Locker Room area.
Respond to emergencies and assist medical personnel as needed.
De-escalate situations as necessary to ensure team security.
Create strategic plan to establish relationship with local law enforcement, security officers, and other related entities.
Research and communicate vulnerabilities or safety concerns in a timely manner and coordinate with local law enforcement when needed.
Complete reports related to suspicious activity and incident reports as needed to ensure leadership team is appropriately informed of any necessary information related to team security.
Inspect transport vehicles for safety.
Operate and ensure proper function of protective and communications equipment such as CCTV cameras, radios, etc.
Create plan and make recommendations to implement a physical security plan across all physical team spaces.
Promptly identify and escalate deficiencies/failures of security plans and safety protocols to Director of Football Operations.
Screen incoming fan mail for threatening substances, threatening or inappropriate language, or other concerning contents, escalating and addressing issues as needed.
Assist with team and facility operations as needed, including performing ad-hoc tasks around the office.
Domestic travel is required up to 50% of the time.
Travel, lodging, and food are covered by the organization.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or a federal agency executing protection detail or prior Team Security with either MLS, NWSL, MLB, NBA, NHL, or NFL experience, preferred.
Experience with advance planning, surveillance, and counter-surveillance operations.
CSSP, CPP, or other security licensing/certification desired.
Successful completion of Club pre-employment screening process including drug testing and background investigation.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with external individuals.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a reliable means of transportation.
Able to travel to all away games and work a flexible schedule.
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to lift heavy objects.
Occasional bending, lifting, and carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.
May work in an outdoor setting as required.
Ability to walk, run, climb, and stand for long periods of time.
Capabilities & Other Characteristics: Clear decision-maker, capable of functioning in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Emotionally intelligent, able to utilize a range of non-physical tactics to deescalate or manage fan encounters.
Level-headed, able to absorb stress and create order in chaos.
Knowledge of and ability to execute physical restraint maneuvers in the event of a physical threat Resourceful team-player, willing to execute a range of tasks to support team and facility operations Location: Based in the Bay Area with the ability to work full-time, in person at the team’s practice facility.
Able and willing to travel to all Bay FC home and away games as well as a willingness to travel for other business-related trips.
Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this role is between $85,000-$95,000.
Actual starting pay may vary based on experience, skills, and scope.
