Located in the heart of Marin County, Cedars has been supporting individuals through our programs and services for more than 100 years.
Our residential staff (https://www.

org/residentialprograms) is responsible for supporting the daily living activities of our residents.
Our residential programs operate 24/7 and we have many shifts available, including fill-in hours, for people who are retired or interested in doing work with a rewarding, social purpose.
Weekend availability may be required for some positions.
This is an entry level position – we will help you attain a DSP certificate!
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will:
• Assist with goals that help increase a resident’s independent living skills.
• Supervise recreational activities using a positive supportive approach.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy home environment.
• Assist residents with cooking and housekeeping.
• Assist with personal hygiene needs.
Job Requirements:
• A desire to help others achieve their potential.
• Common sense, good judgment, ability to think ahead, and to take initiative.
• Experience with adults with developmental disabilities is helpful.
• Ability to use email and computer.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications or a willingness to acquire both.
• Must be able to drive a regular passenger van; have a valid California driver license and clean DMV record.
• Need to pass DOJ and FBI background checks and occupational health physical.
• Must pass both DSP (Direct Support Professional) I & II (or already be certified) within 12 - 24 months of hire.
(Cedars will help set-up classes for certifications).
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
