The Role We are looking for a talented and innovative Thermal Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of advanced thermal management systems for our electric energy storage solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in thermal engineering, a deep understanding of heat transfer principles, and experience with battery systems.
What you'll do: Thermal Management System Design: Design and develop advanced thermal management systems for battery packs used in energy storage solutions.
Simulation and Modeling: Utilize simulation software to model thermal behavior and predict performance under various conditions.
Heat Transfer Analysis: Conduct detailed heat transfer analysis including conduction, convection, and radiation studies for battery systems.
Experimental Testing: Design and conduct experiments to validate thermal models and improve system performance.
Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials and components that meet thermal requirements and enhance battery efficiency and safety.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve thermal-related issues in battery systems, enhancing performance and reliability.
Cross-functional Teamwork: Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure that thermal considerations are integrated into overall product design.
Skills to be successful: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in thermal management, preferably in the battery or energy storage sector.
Proficient in thermal simulation tools (e.
g.
, ANSYS, COMSOL).
Proficient in Solidworks Solid understanding of heat transfer principles and experience in thermal management of batteries.
Engineer packaging and component designs that enhance airflow, coolant, and refrigerant circulation, and thermal actuator integration.
Focus on optimizing for efficiency, affordability, ease of manufacturing, and maintainability.
" Undertake mechanical engineering for various components and assemblies, including plastics, sheet metals, structural metals, insulation systems, sealing techniques, fluid connectors, fasteners, busbars, etc.
, complemented by hands-on prototype development.
Experience with experimental design and data analysis.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements.
We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience.
Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets.
The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area.
If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above.
