The Nurse Manager provides direct resident care and supervises all nursing activities performed by professional nursing personnel on the unit.
Provides clinical input to treatment team and facilitates multi-disciplinary treatment care and programming in the milieu.
Duties include:
1.
Responsible for the nursing care provided to residents on a 24-hour basis.
2.
Scheduling of all nursing staff and insuring staffing ratios for all shifts
3.
Coordinates Infection Prevention in conjunction with IP for Behavioral Health.
4.
Participates in unit meetings including but not limited to IDT meetings, MD meetings
5.
Facilitates monthly Nursing/CNA meetings.
Meets with night shift staff monthly.
6.
Assesses medical status of residents and coordinates care with Medical Coordinator/MD
7.
Hires/evaluates Nursing Department staff.
8.
Responsible for the timely completion of MDS with MDS coordinator.
9.

Insures that staff records are complete and correct.
10.
Insures proper nursing documentation based on regulatory requirements.
11.
Insures that all residents have informed consents for psychiatric medications.
12.
Oversees in-services provided to nursing staff with assistance of the ADSD
14.
Monthly drug regimen review, follow-up and wasting of medications with Pharmacist.
15.
Donation of excess psychiatric meds.
16.
Insures that Nursing staff are current with TB test, Physicals, CPR, and Crisis Management training with Assist.
Staff Developer.
17.
Reviews all medications errors and counsels' staff as necessary.
18.
Interfaces with Pharmacy to ensure delivery of prescribed medications.
19.
Maintains positive customer relations with all agencies, families, vendors, etc.
20.
Takes weekend call on monthly basis with other Behavioral Health Managers.
21.
Audits falls, meet with RD monthly and monitor weights
22.
Works collaboratively with all departments and manages in a professional manner.
23.
Completes assignments/projects from Program Director in a timely manner.
24.
Coordinates Student Nurse rotations in hospital with Clinical Instructors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.
00 - $129,000.
