*Position Overview:*
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works within their Ethical Scope of Practice at all times, follows all State and Federal laws pertaining to healthcare delivery; completes evaluations, treatments and documentation in a timely manner; works cooperatively with team members, all internal and external customers and strives to positively represent their discipline and their company in the community.
*Job Duties:*
* Provide treatment following the Plan of Care as determined by the Physical Therapist and ordered by a physician.
* Provide treatment appropriate to eval findings and within the professional scope of practice and individual level of expertise of the PTA.
* Report deviations from scheduled treatment minutes to Director of Rehab or Rehab Coordinator.
* Ensure that insurance authorization has been obtained prior to treatment.
* Include staff and family caregiver training in treatment as appropriate.
* Report patient progress and barriers to the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
* Consult regularly with the PT of record regarding patient response to treatment.
* Consult with the supervising PT before treating any patient experiencing a change of condition.
* Instruct rehab aides to carry out appropriate duties to support the provision of Physical therapy such as set up and cleanup activities.
* Communicate regularly and as needed to other team members and on-call therapists re: patient care issues.
* Coordinate scheduling issues with team members and the staffing coordinator as needed.
* Manage time and prioritize responsibilities to meet productivity expectations.
* Provide only such treatment as allowed by the PT Board and the level of experience and knowledge of the PTA.
* Will not independently make a determination to discharge the Physical Therapy plan of care but may contribute information to assist the PT to make this determination.
*Education*:
The Physical Therapist Assistant must have graduated from accredited Associate level program of Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or a program if trained in a country other than the US.
*Licensure*:
A Physical Therapist Assistant must possess a current, valid PTA license or documentation from the PT Board of licensed applicant status.
Any current disciplinary actions taken against that license must be reported to the supervisor and may result in loss of ability to work depending on the seriousness of the action.
Pay: From $45.
00 per hour
