Who You Are and What You’ll Do: You are passionate about life sciences and making a difference to cancer patients, their families, and healthcare providers.
This position requires the candidate to have the ability to support protein analytics and characterization needs for discovery and development programs at CytomX Therapeutics.
The position will provide analytical support to upstream and downstream process development and formulation development in the analysis of in-process and final product samples.
The position will also execute and develop HPLC and gel-based analytical methods for in-depth protein characterization.
As such, working knowledge of some of the analytical methods, such as: LC, CE-SDS, icIEF, and/or mass spectrometry-based assays is important.
Experience in binding and cell-based assay development is a plus.
The individual will be required to document experimental work in electronic lab notebooks diligently and will be required to write (or may contribute to writing) SOPs and reports.
Job Responsibilities: Contribute to the development and execution of analytical methods for complex protein therapeutic candidates such as HPLC (SEC, RP-HPLC, ion exchange, etc.
), capillary electrophoresis, LC-MS, ELISA-based analytical methods for protein/antibody characterization, based on the needs.
Apply scientific principles, current technologies, and personal experience to support design and execution of appropriate experiments to solve problems.
Support the development of SOPs for various analytical methods and the qualification of methods required for technical transfer to CMO/CRO facilities.
Contribute to maintaining and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation as required.
Support troubleshooting of assay performance as needed.
Document experimental work in electronic lab notebooks, SOPs, and reports.
Communicate results and propose scientifically based recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications: BS or MS in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline with ~1-5 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience with running HPLC and gel-based analytical methods and instrumentation for characterization of proteins/biopharmaceuticals is essential.
The ability to maintain and troubleshoot of analytical equipment is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to independently perform experiments and multi-task with acceptable supervision and prior experience in developing and qualifying analytical methods for biopharmaceuticals is highly desirable.
Prior experience in mass spectrometry-based assays for characterization of proteins/ biopharmaceuticals is a plus.
Prior experience supporting process and/or formulation development is a plus.
