Organization Description:
Since 1981, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy (Parks Conservancy) has served as the nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, collaborating with the Presidio Trust, partners, donors, and the community to support the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA).
The GGNRA stretches across three Bay Area counties, north and south of the Golden Gate Bridge, and includes iconic places such as Muir Woods National Monument, Fort Point National Historic Site, Alcatraz Island, Crissy Field, Mori Point, Lands End, and the Presidio of San Francisco.

Position Overview: The Operations Manager primarily supports the Park Projects and Design Team with administrative, financial, partnership and project support tasks, and will also assist the Park Places and Innovation Branch with administrative and operations work.
An ideal candidate will have an interest in learning about and supporting a diverse portfolio of park projects and be enthusiastic about the mission of the Parks Conservancy.
The candidate should be a clear communicator, value partnerships, want to support smooth and efficient operations, manage several tasks at one time, be flexible, take initiative, and follow through.
This position is based at Fort Mason, San Francisco.
There will be a mix of telework and on-site.
Work is performed in an office setting, with frequent site visits to projects and community engagement settings.
The Conservancy currently requires a minimum of 4 full days per month onsite; however, in many instances it would require more onsite days either in the office or visiting park sites in order to meet the essential requirements of the position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The Operations Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supports Project Managers and Branch Executive with planning and administrative work, as needed.
Manages team purchasing and expenditures; prepares and reconciles reimbursements and credit cards.
Manages procurement and inventory for team supplies as needed.
Manages IT related needs including the scheduling of computer repairs, upgrades for hardware and software.
Manages shared team files systems using the Parks Conservancy’s SharePoint system.
Supports Project Managers with the production of digital and printed communications such as community engagement materials, newsletters, and public facing information sharing.
Coordinates with and supports the Finance department on tracking invoices, supporting contracts, and other tasks as needed.
Liaises with other Branches and Departments at the Parks Conservancy, such as Human Resources, IT, Safety, Communications, and Web Design team, especially during milestones such as updates or events.
Manages scheduling meetings and events (such as partner and internal meetings, retreats, and community events), meeting preparation and logistics (such as creating and putting together materials), and meeting follow up (such as note-taking and tracking next steps).
For community engagement events, helps team members with preparation, set up, and clean up.
Manages tasks and coordination for hiring from application through new staff orientation and training.
Uses best practices to integrate equity and inclusion into the process, remove barriers to participation, and reduce intentional and unintentional bias.
Stays up to date with organization’s operations and policy, such as safety protocols, and leads team members about best practices and implementation.
Work with other Operations Managers across the organization to develop and implement standard operating procedures.
Works to advance Justice, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices within the Park Projects and Design team and projects.
Desired Qualifications: Experience in office administration in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Able to handle numerous tasks concurrently and adapt to changing circumstances.
Knows how to use computer programs including MS Office.
Can learn new applications quickly.
Willing to learn Adobe Creative Suite, database systems, and web programs.
Can complete tasks on time with attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
Can work effectively with little or no supervision and can be relied upon, and takes initiative to figure out process for tasks.
Has strong skills in written and verbal communications; organization; and problem solving.
Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record; must be insurable to drive company vehicles.

The starting salary for this position is $72,500 (Grade 14).
For current and previous Parks Conservancy staff, additional consideration regarding salary may be given to reflect prior relevant experience and/or to ensure salary consistency within the organization.
