"New" nintendo 3ds (San Francisco)

Hi there.
So I recently had a black new nintendo 3ds XL stolen from me.
A little bit of background; I recently moved here and am staying in a shelter.
While I was sleeping someone went through my stuff and took my nintendo 3ds.
Apparently he had been stealing a few people's stuff.
It's was taken on Monday morning and has been missing since then.
The staff at the shelter finally got involved and the guy who stole our stuff told us that left it in a bag at the park on embarcadero near the pier.
We dont necessarily believe him and it could be anywhere.
I have clinical anxiety and my 3ds had been the eye of the storm that had been my life.
It's modded to high hell and I spent HOURS working on it to get it working right.
So while I no longer have access to the box with the matching serial number I do have a few ways to prove that it is in fact mine.
1.
I can sign into the nintendo network ID with the password that is linked to that particular 3ds the ID name would be "astral".
2.
You are unable to swap SD(memory) cards from 3ds to 3ds.
I have a few SD cards that I use for it that wouldn't work on any other 3ds' and almost act as keys.
These SD cards were not taken with the system as the person who took the 3ds didn't know about the seperate SD cards.
3.
Since I had just moved some stuff from SD card to SD card it has matching games.
If anyone has seen any second had on the streets/ aftermarket or knows anything that might be helpful I'd greatly appreciate it.
I don't have much to offer and honestly I have so little left, but I will make sure to repay you anyway that I can.
Like I mentioned earlier my 3ds brings me comfort and peace in some of my dark times; its been my light in the dark and with out it I feel like I've lost my way.
I'm currently in contact with the gamestops in sf and the used game shop in Alameda.
