The Basics:
Tanium is seeking an experienced attorney to join our growing legal team as a Senior Product Counsel.
The right person for this position must be self-motivated, intellectually curious and willing to dig deep into the development of our products to become a trusted advisor for engineering and product management.
We need a team player who is comfortable working across the organization and has a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
What you'll do: Provide practical legal advice and counseling on a full range of product-related issues that arise domestically and internationally Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering and Strategy teams through the entire product lifecycle to identify issues, recommend practical solutions, and assist cross-functional efforts to achieve go-to-market goals Develop and enhance processes designed to ensure on-going product compliance with global laws and regulations in a variety of subject areas, including privacy, data security, artificial intelligence, regulated industries, export control and trade compliance Participating in the design and build process to help evaluate external technologies, including negotiating inbound license agreements and participating in the company's open source review process Support product marketings efforts, including reviewing and approving various marketing collateral Serve as a subject matter expert in our products for the Contracts and Legal teams and assist with contract negotiations, RFPs, product data sheets, and other questions as they arise Manage patent and trademark portfolio, including coordination with engineering, product management and marketing departments and managing outside counsel We're looking for someone with: Minimum JD from an accredited institution Active and in good standing in at least one state bar At least 7 years of relevant experience Preferred 2-3 years' experience in a top-tier law firm At least 5 years' experience working in-house in the software industry, with experience in enterprise cloud computing especially helpful Exceptionally good communication skills Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a tightly-knit legal team Ability to work cross-functionally within an organization to build consensus and achieve strategic goals as well as the ability to enforce legal requirements without alienating clients Solid understand of privacy laws and how they affect product development Experience working with engineering teams on patent harvesting and prosecution About Tanium Tanium, the industry's only provider of converged endpoint management (XEM), leads the paradigm shift in legacy approaches to managing complex security and technology environments.

What you'll get The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 - $385,000.
This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire.
The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
