Job Description – Trans Agenda for Liberation Narrative Lab Internship
Name of Position: Narrative Lab Internship
Type of Position: Internship
Length of Contract: Minimum of 3 months
Location: Remote
Compensation: 15 hours/week at $25 / hour
The Organization:
Transgender Law Center (TLC) is the largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people.
Grounded in legal expertise and committed to racial justice, TLC employs a variety of community-driven strategies to keep transgender and gender nonconforming people alive, thriving, and fighting for liberation.
We envision a future where gender self-determination and authentic expression are seen as basic rights and matters of common human dignity.
We pursue a multidisciplinary approach to advocacy, including nationwide impact litigation, policy advocacy, public education, and a legal helpdesk that serves 1,100 people and our prison mail response program which serves 600 people each year.
Our legal and policy work encompasses all issue areas facing transgender people across the country.
Our current focus for new cases is to combat the criminalization of transgender people through creative legal strategies.
We also fight for economic justice and health care access for transgender and gender non-conforming people, as well as to release people from and improve conditions in prisons and immigration detention our communities face, and improve school safety.
