Learn more about the UC Office of the President DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW UC Legal - Office of the General Counsel (UCL) provides legal services to the university, including representation, advice, research and training.
We also provide legal opinions to the Board of Regents, administration, faculty, staff and others acting on the university's behalf.
We report jointly to the Board of Regents and the president.
POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Legal Business Operations and Technology, applies knowledge management and website administration concepts, and skills to resolve a variety of moderately complex issues for UC Legal systemwide.
Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Oversees knowledge management and information governance for UC Legal, including but not limited to public website, intranet (SharePoint), document management, automated workflows, data mapping across systems, and support various Technology Roadmap and strategic plan initiatives.
Collaborate on Continuing Legal Education programs, records management, and law library.
Responsibilities 40% Manages knowledge management systems and services for UC Legal systemwide.
Applies and maintains moderately complex security controls.
20% Leads trainings and develops best practices and learning materials, including videos.
Supports Minimum Continuing Legal Education Program for UC Legal.
15% Develops and implements basic user interface designs using content management system(s) and graphical user interface (GUI) applications.
Identifies, evaluates and develops limited to moderately complex systems, processes and procedures.
Documents software and processes.
Creates reports and training documents.
15% Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex to complex issues.
Provides internal technical support to UC Legal systemwide.
10% Applies professional data management concepts and defined data / information management policies and procedures in completing assignments.
Works on data / information management problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Designs and implements capture of metadata from technical processes such as software design and database management.
Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Knowledge management experience in a legal setting.
Working knowledge of web design best practices and use of content management system(s).
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software.
Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
Basic knowledge of incident response procedures.
Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
Knowledge of business processes and procedures.
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Demonstrated understanding of how system management actions affect users and dependent / related functions.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of SharePoint and automated workflow tools.
Demonstrated experience with database administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies.
Demonstrated skills applying security controls to computer software and hardware.
Education Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training required Travel Requirements 5% Occasional campus visit or conference travel.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS The person hired will be required to reside within California and report to work on-site at UC's Office of the President (UCOP) located in Oakland, CA on a regular basis.
Current policy requires that a new employee work on-site at least two days a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays ("anchor days").
In exceptional circumstances, approved by the General Counsel, candidates residing in or willing to relocate to California may be considered for a fully remote work arrangement.
SALARY AND BENEFITS Job Title: Information Systems Analyst 2 Job Code: 007308 Salary Grade: Grade 21 Payscale: $40.
70 - $46.
64 / hour (approximately $85,000 - $97,400 annual), commensurate with experience Full Salary Range: $70,100 - $124,700 The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position.
Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
