Bayside Marin, a Residential and Outpatient Holistic Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Program, is seeking to hire an Admissions Counselor to work in our San Rafael location.
Responsibilities Include:
· Responding to intake calls
· Entering information into electronic contact management, health record & billing systems
· Creating admission documents and completing paperwork with new clients and family
· Verifying health insurance benefits
· Financial counseling with clients/families and collection of payment for services
· Responsible for auditing admission packets and for verification of benefits in the patient accounting system
· Complete adjustment forms for approved adjustments and discounts
· Update front log and admin.

· Interface with remote admissions team/onsite team for necessary approvals, plan for client arrival and including travel arrangements as applicable
· Liase with client and family of potential admissions to address additional questions and concerns
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior admissions experience
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree
· Prior admissions, mental health or chemical dependency treatment experience and/or an understanding of substance abuse and dual-diagnosis issues and treatment
· Demonstrated ability to provide thorough, high quality customer service
· Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
· Conscientious and highly organized
· Able to prioritize multiple tasks when things get busy
· Ability to work well under pressure and in crisis situations
· Experience working with insurance companies is a plus
