Vintage set of 8 dinner plates of the INTERPACE Collection by celebrated artist Richard E.
Bishop (1887-1975.
) These are of the ‘Wild Game’ Series, all in excellent condition - pre-owned but seldom used, if ever.
They exhibit virtually no cutlery scratches, scuffs, chips or crazing.
The plates are about 10-1/2”-dia.
x 5/8” H.
Each depicts a different game bird from an original etching by him ca.
1936 and subsequently transferred to the plates by INTERPACE.
Bishop's signature is on the front, mingled with the etching along with the date 1936.
Each plate has a platinum-trimmed rim.
Six fowl are depicted, two of which have duplicates: Black Duck, Mallard, Green Wing Teal, Pin Tail, (2) Pheasant, and (2) Canvasback.
Each plate has the INTERPACE hallmark and Bishop’s handwritten acknowledgement underglaze: ‘Copyrighted Etching by Richard E.
Bishop’ and (‘fowl’s name.
