Do you need a California State Contractors license such as a C33 and/or“B” general license?
I can help assist you with the RMO process to obtain a legal license in a month.
No contracting experience is needed but is preferred.
• You can make more money if you are licensed and be able to bid on a wide range of jobs.
• Business experience preferred.
Experience in your trade would be helpful.
• Real estate owner preferred or someone who has some assets.
• A stable individual that doesn’t abuse alcohol or drugs is needed.
• A stable person who knows how to manage money.
• Good or reasonable credit needed.
• You should know how to use email and computer (If you don’t, you will work a lot harder to succeed in today’s high tech world).
If you don’t use a computer, you can learn no matter what age you are.
• You need a separate checking/savings bank account for the business.
• You will need to be incorporated (if you are not now, I can show you how to do it without an attorney and high costs).
You can do this in 5 days yourself.
(S corp)
• You supply all tools, equipment and vehicles.
• You supply all leads and work (I only supply the license)
• The term is 4 years and then you take the test and l am off the license.
• If you choose the 5 year term, CA waves the test and I am off the license.
• I will answer simple questions about the process for free any time.
• I am offer consulting if needed for a reasonable time.
• I can produce professional literature and logo for you to make you look more professional for a reasonable fee
• I can advise you about a web site.
I have 45 years of business experience.
I am a semi-pro photographer and have extensive graphic design experience.
• You pay all the license fees, insurance and taxes.
You keep accounting books.
• You pay me a monthly fixed fee whether you make money or not – it is like rent.
I have been doing this for about 30 years and worked with several people who are now licensed without my fees.
I have been in business for 45 years as a contractor it is not that hard to get work if you follow through, charge fair prices, show up as agreed and do the work quickly and efficiently.
The main thing that many business people do not know how to do is manage their business properly and market themselves well.
Also when things get slow I actually go out and knock on doors, follow it up with a letter and if I really want the job, go back.
I never failed to get work that way.
I can show you how.
I have written a book on how to succeed as a painting contractor and if you use the painting as your anchor, the other B license work will come, because customers are hungry for competent contractors who actually show up.
I had some concrete work done recently on my own personal home and called about 5-6 people for bids and most of them either didn’t show up for estimate or did not call me back to discuss the potential of the job.
Just think of things this way.
If 15% of people are unemployed, 85% are EMPLOYED and they
need work done.
The same concepts are true for any trade.
Many contractors are inefficient and don’t know how to treat the customer.
I have always said that if you show up as promised and do average work (not even outstanding work), you will survive.
If you qualify and are interested, please send me an email to jim@jamesagrover.

This is a legal concept if you don’t have the work experience or want to avoid the CA state test.
