Do you have an elderly parent who wants to stay in her/his home as long as possible? You want to honor their wish but it’s getting more and more difficult to tend to their daily needs because you work and have too much on your plate?
That’s where I come in.
I work side-by-side with your loved one in such a way that respects their choices while supporting them to make decisions and conduct their days with joy and agency.
Here’s a short list of what I provide:
Personal Care & Advocacy
• Support to shower and groom
• Check to make sure they’re eating healthy, hydrating and taking vitamins and medications as directed
• Meal preparation (I’m an exceptional cook and can make nutrient rich soups and yummy meals of their liking)
• Attend doctor appointments and parlay the transaction to family unable to be present (especially useful if the senior has a hearing aid and may not hear everything the doctor advises)
• Co-create a daily plan for exercise, walking and socializing
• Wellness care calls to remind when to take medication, go for a walk etc.
Organize & declutter
• Declutter problem areas in the home (e.
g.
, closets, garages, spare rooms)
• Sort items, consign and donate as needed
• Bill review and paper taming
• Identify what needs to be shredded, recycled or taken to the dump
• Simple household chores (change lightbulb, hang a painting etc.
)
Personal assistance & admin
• Vet, hire and supervise 3rd party service providers (house cleaners, gardener etc.
)
• Co-create a simple system for paying bills on time and tracking expenses (however, I do not do book keeping)
• Organize and declutter email and inbox
• Ensure home office is ergonomically suited to the seniors’ physical strengths
• Wait-at-home services to accept deliveries that need signing, open the door for the plumber etc.
• Errands, shopping, vet appointments
Companionship & care
• Provide a listening ear when needed
• Make a memory book of precious memories to be shared with family members
• I can bring my dear dog, Jezi, who is a gentle and comforting presence
• Dog walking, pet care
• Crafting and playing board games, puzzles
• Gardening, bird watching and singing!
Emergency response plan
• Make an evacuation plan in case of a fire or other emergency
• Put together a Go-Bag full of items your loved one will need
• Contact list in case of emergency
• One on one tutorial on how to detect and avoid scammers (phone, in person and computer)

I have real passion for helping seniors stay independent in such a way that makes the whole family feel secure.
My background in organizing, program coordination/administration, senior companionship, dance therapy and life coaching in addition to 25+ years as an artist and dancer, inform my approach and philosophy.
