Large Chicken Coop - $500 (concord / pleasant hill / martinez)

This is a custom made coop on a 4'x8' plywood and 2x4 base.
The structure is framed with 2x4s and all openings are protected with galvanized 1/2" wire.
The floor is open for the hens, and a ramp leads up to to an enclosed, vented, roost space and three large nest boxes.
Access to the coop floor is through a 6' high door, and access to the roost is by way of two locking doors at the rear.
The nest boxes open directly outside for easy cleaning and egg collection.
With three separate roost bars and three nest boxes, the coop is large enough for 6-10 hens.
Our seven hens were comfortable in all weather conditions.
There is an extra door at the top of the ramp to close off the roost area, if desired.
A pulley and rope operate the door from outside.
A white corrugated roof provides weather protection while allowing some illumination in the main coop area.
The roof is securely screwed to a frame, and the frame is detachable to allow for transport or easier access, especially to rear yards.
The coop is also equipped with locking casters.
