Free cherry tree (sonoma)

We've had this cherry tree (unknown variety, but bought locally) in a pot for at least three years, and it has never produced fruit.
This year is produced one flower and nothing else.
We give up.
It's definitely alive! But our growing conditions are obviously not ideal.
Please try to revive it!
