Fluance SX-HTB five-piece speaker set: a pair of towers, a full-size matching center speaker, and two little surround speakers - all in great condition for age (except for one of the little speakers which was knocked over and suffered a little cosmetic damage to its corner - see photo) and some sun fading of the veneer, but does not affect the sound quality.
From a non smoking home which over the years has had a cat or two.
Used for television and music.
Great sound.
I’m not an audiophile, so here’s some information on this set from the web:
The SX-HTB system offered credible sound quality and solid construction.
Towers are 38.
8 inches tall, and definitely qualify as full-size speakers; each one weighs a hefty 33.
4 pounds.
Each tower's cabinet rests on an integral base, which feature adjustable brass feet.
The center speaker measures 15.
8 wide, and the surround speakers, which also include bases, are wall mountable.
They're just 8.
8 inches high and can easily be tucked into a bookcase for surround sound.
The tower speakers' deep bass capabilities satisfy in small home theaters and don’t require a subwoofer.
the SXHTB is considered a 5.
0 surround sound system.
Instead of the subwoofer, the two floor standing speakers handle the low-end frequencies – and they're exceptional at it.
The bass isn't overpowering but is clear and concise, adding body and fullness to the sound scape.
The towers feature dual 6.
5-inch poly-coated woofers and a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter.
The center channel speaker sports a pair of 4-inch poly-coated woofers, and a 1-inch plastic tweeter, while the surround speakers include the same type of woofer and tweeter.
All of the speakers are ported designs.
The center and surround speakers use gold-plated, five-way binding posts, and the towers' connectivity incorporates double sets of posts to enhance performance with bi-amp/bi-wire capability
