I am the original owner of these vintage Advent/2 speakers from the late 70's.
(I used to have 6 of the large Advents).
These smaller ones were in my bedroom for decades and my office more recently.
I am downsizing now, and so I use smaller speakers.
I sold my 6 large Advents a few years ago for the same reason.
My asking price is admittedly a bit on the high side, due to the condition of this pair compared to others I have seen for sale which tend to be in poor condition.
Also, this smaller Advent model is relatively rare.
People with the space would naturally buy the larger Advent, as I did for my studio.
Both speakers had the woofers re-foamed years ago.
They still sound great.
They weigh about 17 lbs each.

Opinions on "The Smaller Advent Loudspeaker” (From 2014)
Q: What do you guys think of these speakers? I picked up a pair yesterday.
I love the way they sound.
I’ve got differing opinions on them from people on them though.
Everything from "I love those!" to "Why would you buy any speakers from the 70s?" I thought I would ask on the forum.
What are your experience with them when they were new or now? Did/do you enjoy them?
A: They're my favorite Advent, and I've had a couple pair of large Advents as well.
For their size they have some pretty impressive bass response.
I have always respected Advents since I heard them in the 80`s.
As long as they are in spec I say its a go!
IMO, the Smaller Advent was the best speaker they [Advent] ever made.
Probably the most surprisingly decent speaker I ever owned.
… the sound they made compared to their looks was nothing short of amazing.
They took a surprising amount of power hooked up to a good amp, and went very loud and clear considering they aren't so efficient.
To me, maybe the best available vintage bargain speakers to be found.
The small advent is one of the very few bookshelf speakers from the early 70's that I really like.
I did an a+b comparison with a pair of the much loved Dynaco a25's which were the same size and time period and the Advents came out on top by a fair margin.
… love 'em.
No need for a sub with those puppies.
The Smaller Advents Loudspeaker, a strange model name at best, was voiced to sound like the original The Advents Loudspeaker but 3db less efficient, 4 ohms vs 8 and a bit less bass.
I bought a pair of these new in 1974 and still have them.
They've been recapped and re-foamed and still sound pretty good.
… surprisingly good bass for their small footprint.
Hold on to those and relive the 70s - nothing wrong with that at all.
And those are very good speakers, as others have pointed out.
I have a pair in the bedroom …Very good sound.
Excellent with AR-3A like bass response.
Very few speaker its size can touch it in clean deep bass performance.
Very smooth over the whole range.
I always really liked them.
That is just about the only speaker from the 70s I would buy if I got the chance.
