BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to work cooperatively in a team to teach and assist in daycare duties at the Booth Childcare Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs classroom teaching duties during absence of regular teacher or other staff member.
Assist in supervision of children, paying special attention to health and safety of each child.
Participates in staff meetings when possible.
Responsible for the care and upkeep of equipment and supplies.
Assists in set-up and clean-up duties as required.
Willingness to take directions from the Head Teacher
Responsible to inform Day Care Center of any changes in telephone numbers for contact purposes.
Willingness to substitute for support services positions as well as teaching positions as needed.
Willing to be assigned in any level.
Other Related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old age and a high school graduate.
Child Development courses preferred.
Some experience with young children required.
Child Care Center experience preferred.
Skills, Abilities, and other Qualification Requirements
Must be highly flexible in a fast-paced changing environment.
Ability to interact appropriately with children.
Ability to work with diverse groups.
Ability to work as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
Ability to reach overhead
Ability to operate telephone
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate a computer.
Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
