OPENING: FALL SEMESTER 2023 AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR College of Marin seeks an Automotive Technology instructor to teach the following class for the Fall 2023 semester: Automotive Maintenance Fundamentals – AUTO 110A (No prerequisite.
) This course provides basic training in engine testing and repair, engine performance, fuel and emission service, general electrical system repair, battery service, brake service and suspension, and steering and alignment service.
Emphasizes obtaining the correct specification and understanding how changes affect drivability.
(CSU) Dates: 8/29/23 – 12/19/23 Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays Times: 1:00 – 3:30 p.
m.
Location: Tuesday – College of Marin, Indian Valley Campus.
Thursday – Marin Oaks High School REQUIREMENTS 1.
Any Bachelor's degree AND two years of professional experience in the field;or 2.
Any Associate's degree AND six years of professional experience in the field;and 3.
ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician with L1;and 4.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and the campus community.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION Certification as a Bureau of Automotive Repair Instructor (required to teach AUTO-239A Bureau of Auto Repair Update Training.
) CLEARANCES Prior to employment, the successful candidate must successfully pass a fingerprint and tuberculin clearance.

SALARY INFORMATION FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $78,832 - $120,884* (see below for part-time instruction breakdown) Please refer to the Faculty (UPM/AFT) Salary Schedule on our Human Resources site for detailed information.
*Salaries for part-time instructors are based on the number of units taught and are paid at 95% of the Full-time Faculty Salary Schedule.
New part-time instructors will be placed between Step 1, Column 1, and Step 9, Column 5 of the salary schedule, depending on verified background and experience.
Salary placement is non-negotiable.
Temporary Part-time Credit Instructor Payment Formula: Annual salary (from salary schedule) x 95%, then ÷ 30 units= per unit rate.
