Local Sonoma Valley learning center is seeking experienced, enthusiastic and engaging candidates to tutor K-12 math students.
We are looking for qualified tutors who share our passion for building students' confidence and independence.
*The successful candidate(s) will feel comfortable supporting and cultivating a positive math mindset while teaching foundational math skills, elementary and middle school math, Pre-Algebra concepts, Geometry, Algebra I & II, and/or Precalculus, Calculus and Statistics.
Highest demand is currently in middle school math, Algebra, and Geometry.
Ideal candidates have experience supporting students and the ability to switch gears as needed to offer students different approaches to a given concept.

Availability requirements are for at least one, and ideally one, two, or three days of Mon-Thurs from 3:30-6:30 pm.
This is an ideal part-time tutoring opportunity for college students pursuing a degree in education or childhood development, current/former teachers, and professional individuals who enjoy working with students or hope to pursue a career in education.
As contractors who are part of a wonderful community of colleagues, tutors have flexibility in scheduling.
In addition, we host regular meetings that often include guest speakers, as well as tools to develop our teaching methods.
The sessions take place in person and on-site in Sonoma, CA.
Tutors generally work with 2-3 students per day.
*Qualifications*

* Work experience in a professional setting (Teaching experience is preferred; equally important are a positive attitude, encouraging rapport with students, and skill & confidence in math at various grade levels.

* Experience with Google Suite, Zoom, and ability to balance multiple online platforms
* Availability at least one day (two even better) of Mon-Thurs from 3:30-6:30 pm
* Ability to meet with students at the office located in Sonoma, California
* Warm, open personality
* Successful rapport with students
* Reliability (be available at the same time, at least two days per week)
* Openness to feedback and mentorship
