Under the direction of the Principal, and using wind/band instruments, the Music-Band Teacher is responsible for instructing K-8 school students in the fields of instrumental and vocal music, and, jazz, concert or marching bands.
The ability to apply differentiated instruction methods to teach students in small or large group lessons in a classroom comprised of students with skills at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels is essential.
Provide a quality instrumental music, vocal and band program for all students.
Motivate students to develop an interest in, and an appreciation of, the art of music.
Develop knowledge, skills, and talents of students in the field of music, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students’ interests and abilities.
Develop the talents of students in the field of music and develop knowledge and skills in listening to and reading music.
Support each student in achieving a higher level of personal skill in gaining an enhanced understanding and appreciation for band music, and an increased level of self-esteem through rehearsals and performances.
Ability to teach music theory classes.
Additionally, the teacher teams with Emery Unified School District as they work to develop a well-articulated K-12 music program that addresses the California music and fine arts standards.
The ability and willingness to teach another elective courses, depending on enrollment numbers, is desirable.
The music, band and vocal/chorus classes can be prep, push-in or pull out.

* Fingerprint and tuberculosis clearances as required by law
