Berkeley Independent Study is hiring a math and science tutor for the following subjects: AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, 9th-grade Physics, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry.
for 8 hours per week.
It would be approximately 8 hours per week split over 2-3 days at the Independent Study Campus.
In the past, we have hired UC Berkeley college students and Berkeley residents who are committed to math and science education.
This job is ideal for someone who is truly interested in becoming a math or science teacher.
This position will require tutoring in person on the Independent Study campus of Berkeley High School at 2701 Martin Luther King Jr Way.
The hours can be built around your schedule, and the teachers' lab schedules, so there is some flexibility.
Coming to campus 2-3 times per week is ideal, with some options for students who are available in the mornings and afternoons.
You will have a consistent weekly schedule.
You are a great fit for this position if you can meet most of following requirements:
* Experience tutoring at the high school/middle school level.
* Willing to take the initiative to reach out to struggling students.
* Comfort tutoring math at the level of AP Calculus and AP Statistics
* Comfort tutoring science at the level of AP Chemistry and AP biology
* Enthusiastic in helping teenagers solve problems.
* Passionate about math and science
* Flexible accommodating students on Zoom if required.
