Tour Bus/Tram Operator
Reports to: General Manager
Classification: Seasonal, part-time, non-exempt
Summary
The Tour Bus/Tram Operator is directly responsible for using the TRAM efficiently and safely.
This includes friendly and professional service to visitors, proper maintenance of the TRAM, and expert driving to provide comfort and minimize hazards.
The tram driver also manages the boarding lines and all crowd control responsibilities at the Tram boarding area.
Essential Functions
Serves customers in a friendly, courteous manner and sets a good example for visitors and fellow employees.
Represents the company in a professional manner; maintains a well-groomed appearance, wearing the company uniform at all times.
Assists visitors on and off the tram in a safe manner, mindful of guests with special needs.
Drives tram as directed on a designated route and designated schedule in a safe manner.
Shares information, history, statistics, and anecdotes during the tour of the island to the group in an accurate and engaging manner.
Maintains cleanliness of tram.
Maintains proper tram logs.
Reports all tram mechanical problems and maintenance issues to supervisor.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Possesses good communications skills, a courteous demeanor, and a helpful attitude.
Able to work weekends and holidays, early mornings, evenings and holidays.
Possesses a genuine concern for guests' experience, displays enthusiasm and enjoys frequent interaction with the public.
Able to work in varying weather conditions.
Class B or Class A Driver's license with a clean 3-year history.
Class C with passenger endorsement—restricted to one vehicle.
