Job Brief: We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Driver to support our operations by efficiently picking up junk vehicles from various locations and safely transporting them to our dismantling yard.
This role is crucial in maintaining a steady influx of materials for recycling and parts salvaging, contributing to our sustainability efforts.
The ideal candidate will have experience in driving a variety of vehicles, possess strong organizational skills, and be committed to safety and environmental standards.
Core Key Responsibilities: Cream's Dismantling and Scrap is on the lookout for a skilled and dependable Class C Tow Truck Driver to enhance our team's capabilities in managing vehicle retrievals.
This role is central to our operations, involving the collection of junk vehicles from client impound yards, responding to requests from police and the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and conducting pickups from private properties.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in tow truck operation, a knack for efficient navigation, and a professional demeanor in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities: ● Tow Truck Mastery and Vehicle Retrieval: ○ Safely and effectively operate a Class C tow truck, ensuring the secure loading and transportation of junk vehicles from varied locations back to Cream's Dismantling and Scrap.

co ○ Perform thorough inspections of the tow truck before and after operations to guarantee mechanical reliability and safety compliance.
● Law Enforcement and Private Pickup Coordination: ○ Swiftly address retrieval requests from police and CHP, adhering to all legal and procedural standards pertinent to vehicle towing.
○ Manage private property vehicle pickups with professionalism, ensuring respectful and efficient interactions with property owners and adhering to legal guidelines.
● Impound Yard Liaison: ○ Collaborate with client impound yards to identify and collect designated junk vehicles, maintaining positive relationships and clear communication.
○ Accurately document details of each vehicle pickup, including condition, origin, and any relevant communications, for internal tracking and compliance.
● Effective Navigation and Communication: ○ Utilize advanced GPS and mapping tools to plan optimal routes for pickups, considering potential traffic and access challenges.
○ Maintain proactive and clear communication with the dispatch team, law enforcement, impound yard personnel, and private property contacts to ensure streamlined operations.
● Maintenance of Vehicle and Equipment: ○ Conduct regular maintenance checks and safety inspections on the tow truck and associated equipment, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
○ Keep the tow truck and all equipment clean, organized, and ready for operation, reflecting Cream's Dismantling and Scrap's commitment to professionalism and safety.

co Qualifications and Skills: ● A clean criminal background is essential due to our collaboration with law enforcement ● Required Drug & Alcohol testing before hire ● Random Drug & Alcohol testing throughout employment ● Valid Class C driver's license with a pristine driving record, including tow truck operation certification.
● Demonstrated experience in tow truck driving and vehicle retrieval, with a preference for backgrounds in automotive salvage or dismantling.
● Knowledge of legal requirements and best practices for vehicle towing, including impound regulations and private property towing laws.
