The driver/assistant for our Community Outreach Volunteer and Engagement (COVE) department of Daly City Partnership (DCP), will work under the supervision of the COVE Associate Director and Program Coordinator for all deliveries and pickups associated with our senior meal delivery program and COVE programs.
They will also assist with the day-to-day processes during food distribution.
DUTIES
* Pick up food donations from various partners across Daly City and deliver to intended location
* Work closely with Associate Director and Program Coordinator to determine a list of members who require home delivery, determine maximum number of deliveries per driver and delivery routes.
* Work with Associate Director and Program Coordinator to determine a back-up driver to fill-in for vacations and time away.
* Fill/pick-up sets with food weekly and deliver to each Brown Bag member on the route.
* Make sure deliveries are checked on attendance roster weekly.
* Keep a log of delivery vehicle gas/odometer readings
* Assist with day-to-day processes of food distribution, including but not limited to: setting up product for distribution, distributing product, training volunteers, answering questions, and handling client complaints
* Operate a manual or electric pallet jack
* Attend all required training courses.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Experience working in a client friendly, multi-ethnic, multi-lingual setting
* Desire to be of service
* Ability to safely lift or carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
* Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
REQUIREMENTS
* Be at least 18 years of age
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and current auto insurance
* Must pass LiveScan background check for clearance.
* Company vehicle provided at job site.
Mileage reimbursement per IRS guidelines for personal vehicle use.
