org/intermediate-care-facilities/ *Job Summary:* *\*You will be working as a driver for the facility and a direct care aide for clients with disabilities.
* Direct care Aide Job Duties include: * Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, personal grooming, dressing, changing, and feeding.
* Work with clients on communication skills, recreational activities, community access, and living as independently as possible.
* Document and complete required daily reports.
* Learn and follow policies per licensing regulations.
* Follow feeding and eating plans for all clients.
* Have knowledge of emergency procedures, including fire evacuation procedures.
* Clean areas of the day program and transport vehicles as assigned and as needed.
* Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned and are appropriate.
*Driver Essential Job Functions:* * Possess a current California Class B or Class C driver's license and auto liability insurance and keep current * Obtain CHP special driving certificate and keep current * Must pass transportation training and maintain all transportation training requirements * Must be available to work overtime when necessary * Follow scheduled route(s) and obey all safety rules for driving * Ability to pass random drug testing per state/federal regulatory requirements * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English including ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions and policies and procedures accurately * Assist with daily living activities and client care; including bathing, changing , grooming, dressing and feeding * Work with clients on communication skills, recreational activities, community access and living as independently as possible * Frequent walking and standing, pushing/pulling/lifting and bending/squatting *Job Requirements:* * Current First Aid and CPR Certification Required( We will train you) * Pass all required Pre-Employment Exams * Have a passion for working with people with developmental disabilities.
* Willing to go under background check, drug test, TB test, and physical exam * Can reliably commute to work * Have a good driving record * Attend mandatory monthly training *Physical Requirements:* * Ability to perform two-person lift * Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, twist, reach overhead, and possess manual dexterity.
* Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
* Must be able to sit for long periods of time * Frequent walking and standing, pushing/pulling/lifting, and bending/squatting.
