*Yoga of Cooking Assistant Camp Counselor*
Locations: Walnut Creek and Berkeley / applicant may choose preferred location
Dates of Position: Walnut Creek (June 3rd-August 2nd)
Berkeley (June 10th-August 9th)
Position Hours: 35 - 40 hours per week 10am - 5:30 pm
Compensation: $22-$26 hourly

Come join a fun team of like-minded folks this summer as we share our love of cooking and yoga with youth! Each day you will get to assist lead instructors as they teach small groups of campers how to cook delicious vegetarian food with mindfulness and care.
Camp assistants are also in charge of keeping the dishes and kitchen clean.
They will also supervise and lead activities for the camp after-care program.
*Desired Qualifications and Experience *
* 1+ years of experience or equivalent as a camp or after school program assistant
* Experience teaching any of the following topics: cooking, yoga, science, or outdoor education to elementary school aged youth
* Commitment to providing an education experience that is child-centered, safe, and inclusive.
* Close attention to timing
* Ability to stay calm and keep your sense of humor in a fast-paced environment
* Willingness to follow directions and to work in a team
* Confidence and ability to take initiative and have a leadership role
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, upbeat, positive, mature attitude and respectful communication approach
* Ability to carry equipment, do sun salutations, yoga poses, and play active games with campers
* Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn, and lift 25 pounds.
* Experience in the kitchen= you're a great home cook!
* Knowledge of farmers markets, sustainable cooking practices, breathing, yoga and meditation
* Fun camp talents such as games, storytelling, music, arts and crafts.
* Food Handler Certified (reimbursed)
* First Aid/CPR Certified (reimbursed)
