*Teacher Responsibilities:*
· Develop a careful and creative program suitable for children.
· Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.
) to teach children.
· Interact frequently, affectionately, and respectfully by smiling, touching children.
· Respect and observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.
· Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
· Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.
)
· Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are always safe and healthy.
· Understand the developmental stages and needs of young children, particularly infants and toddlers, and support them in gentle and nurturing manner.
· Track children’s progress and report to parents.
· Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and needs.
· Collaborate with other educators.
· Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
*Teacher Qualities:*
· Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods.
· Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
· Excellent communication and instructional skills.
· Calm under pressure, friendly, and reliable.
· Good balance between a creative and practical mindset.
*Teacher Requirements:*
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must be able to lift and carry a 40-pound object
· Must be able to speak Chinese and English
· Love for children and passion for teaching.
· Active certification of child CPR and First Aid.
(If near/shortly after expiration, consideration may be made).
· Strong leadership and administrative skills.
· 12 core semester units in early childhood education/development semester units.
\*If you’re currently enrolled in a college with at least 2 semester units, consideration may be made until fully qualified as a teacher
· 6 months experience with children under age 5 yeas
Alternatives:
· 3 completed semester units of early childhood education and 3 completed semester units of infant care and enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified
