*About You* We are looking for a competent and passionate Lead Teacher to teach our high-quality, enrichment summer program for children.
You will have an opportunity to make a difference in our community, make it stronger, healthier and a more equitable place.
This summer learning opportunity supports underserved students helping them to build skills, make social connections and enjoy just plain summer fun.
You will undertake a variety of program creation, coordination, administrative and supervisory tasks, help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties.
To be an excellent Lead Teacher, you must be proactive, organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams, and be an effective communicator.
*Examples of Duties* * Plan, implement and evaluate high quality literacy and general education lessons for Summer Camp * Responsible for creating a healthy, safe, interactive, well structured and supervised environment * Adhere to budget to provide maximum programming * Collaborate with Site Lead and summer staff on issues of training, curriculum and programming * Other duties as assigned.
*Skills Needed* * Key skills include: effective public relations and interpersonal skills, organizational principles and time management * Computer skills such as Microsoft office, troubleshooting basic issues, and competency with email, social media and phone etiquette * Ability to establish effective working relationships between participants, parents, employees, and volunteers.
* Plan and direct effective, comprehensive educational and recreational programs.
Meet deadlines and see projects through to completion.
* Ability to juggle multiple duties and go above and beyond the job description.
*Qualifications* * 1 to 3 years of classroom teaching experience * Education: A Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood education, human services, recreation, liberal studies, or a related field.
Directly related experience considered in lieu of an educational requirement.
* Background check required and knowledge of safety-sensitive situations * Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (reasonable accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities) * Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is highly desirable.
Other languages preferred include Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Burmese and Tagalog.
* Able to work collaboratively and build relationships with an ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse community.
*Details* Job is a part-time, summer, independent contractor position.

5 hours a day, 8:15-12:15 with 30 min daily prep.
Monday through Friday.
Summer camp dates are Monday, June 17 to July 19.
Holidays are June 19, July 3 & 4.
Set up day is June 14.
Position will begin prior to camp for meetings.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract Pay: $35.
00 - $50.
00 per hour Expected hours: 22.
