Associate Teacher

GENERAL DESCRIPTION Collaborates with classroom teaching team to prepare and implement curriculum and an appropriate environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES Interact with children in a positive, supportive, respectful, and open-minded manner.
Always maintain visual and auditory supervision of children in your care to ensure their safety.
Set up and maintain classroom and outdoor environment conducive to learning considering schedule/flow of the day that best meets the program and children’s needs.
Perform other duties as necessary to ensure program compliance and quality services to children and families.
Responsible for all information included in ECE Staff Handbook and JCCSF Employment Handbook and site-specific handbooks or guides.
REQUIREMENTS AA degree in Early Childhood or related field preferred.
A minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education including core courses.
One year of experience in a preschool classroom.
Knowledge of Reggio Emilia preferred.
Proficiency of verbal and written communication and technology.
WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are typical of a school setting, working in classrooms, shared spaces, and outdoor areas.
Continuous interactions with children; frequent interactions with parents, staff, and other adults.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
STATUS Benefited, non-exempt, collective bargaining position.
COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT CLASSIFICATION Associate Teacher HOURS/SCHEDULE 37.
5 hours per week.
Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4pm
