Associate Teacher

If so, we invite you to join our team at Community Action Marin as an Associate Teacher!* *Position:* Associate Teacher *Job Summary:* Under the supervision of the Area/Site Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in providing an enriched classroom experience for children.
Your responsibilities include assisting in the development, implementation, and facilitation of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for all children.
In the absence of the Preschool Teacher, you will assume the responsibilities of the Teacher.
* Key Responsibilities (Percentage of Time):* * * Embody CAM Agency Core Competencies* - 20% * Maintain the health, safety, and well-being of the classroom * Implement curriculum * Provide positive guidance * Create an accepting environment * Foster positive parent relations * Contribute and collaborate with the team * Demonstrate professionalism * Education: Minimum of twelve college-level semester or equivalent quarter units in child growth and development, human growth and development, child, family, and community, and program/curriculum.
* Associate-level Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
* Valid CDA credential with the appropriate age level endorsement.
* At least six months of work experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program.
* Experience working with low-income families is desirable.
* Ability to read and write English, interpret documents, and communicate effectively.
Basic mathematical skills.
* Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
* Deep understanding and ability to articulate the role equity, inclusion, and diversity plays in our work.
* Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards is desirable.
* Pediatric First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification or willingness to obtain within the first two weeks of employment.
*Other Requirements:* * Successful completion of an employment background/criminal check.
* Employment physical and proof of immunization record (MMR and TDAP vaccines).
* Proof of absence of tuberculosis.
* Proof of educational degree(s), licenses, or credentials pertinent to the position may be required.
