4ft and Up Kitchen is a culinary program based in San Francisco.
We offer hands-on, from scratch cooking experiences for people of all ages year round.
During the summer we run week-long cooking camp sessions for kids ages 4-12.
We are looking to hire an enthusiastic, food-positive, adventurous, and outgoing person to assist in our 2024 summer camp.
If it works out well and your schedule allows for it, this position could turn into a permanent one.
During the school year we have after school classes, special events, parties, and School closure camps.

*Qualities and Requirements:*
* 30+ hours/week during the summer.
Possible hours available on the weekends for parties.
* Experience working with children (required)
* Summer camp counseling experience (preferred)
* Knowledge of cooking and food (required)
* Background Check (performed after job offer)
* Culinary Degree or equivalent work experience (would be great!)
* Proof of updated Vaccination (required)
* Negative TB Test
* ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate (taken within the last 5 years) \*we can assist with this
* CPR and First Aid for minors certificate
* Driver’s License and access to car (great but not required)
* Flexibility in schedule (would be great!)
* Part-time for Summer Camp
* Must be available *Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm Starting June 17th, 2024 - August 23rd, 2024.
9 weeks total for the summer camp.

* Needed Qualities: Sense of urgency, attention to detail, organizational skills, patience, good communication skills, reliability, ability to multitask, think on your toes, ability to work well with others, work with children in and outside of the kitchen, communicate with parents, confidence in the kitchen, and ability to oversee multiple children.

*Responsibilities include but are not limited to:*
* Assist lead teacher with cooking lessons
* Assist children throughout cooking lessons
* Ability to teach cooking lessons solo with lead teacher nearby (After a few training classes)
* Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitized with the assistance of other counselors
* Help keep track of inventory
* Help prepare and setup for lessons
* Clean up after each lesson
* Help keep kids engaged and having fun
* The ability to create games and different activities for the kids during free time is a plus
* Assist with drop off and pick up
* Assist kids with art and science activities during free time
* Have fun!
*Logistics:*
Compensation is $20-25/hour depending on experience
