Our Enrichment Supervisors are an important part of our community, as they are responsible for supervising children (pre-school aged through 5th grade), assisting teachers, and coordinating student drop-offs and pick-ups with parents.
This is a part-time non-exempt position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.
m.
to 6:00 p.
m.
Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover staffing during school/camp hours.
*Description of Essential Responsibilities* Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
· Supervise elementary children during carpool · Lead various after school activities with the preschoolers (games, art, sports) · Partner with teachers and other school staff to identify, create, and maintain effective programs for the children, as needed · Identify and help address concerns or issues that need to be resolved in order to offer the highest quality care and services for the children · Distribute snacks and clean up during the after school program · Help facilitate the school’s carpool program by bringing children to their parents during pick-up · Assist with snack arrangements for our after school program · Help create and lead activities for children who attend the camps that occur during our Fall, Winter, and Spring Breaks *Work Environment* This job operates in a childcare environment, both indoors and outdoors on campus.
The position will interact mainly with preschool children on a daily basis.
*This interaction will include toileting assistance and diaper changes*.
Supervisors may also be needed to escort students during camp field trips during the year.
*Physical Demands* · Stand for long periods of time · Climb stairs · Lift 25 pounds (frequently), and 50 pounds (occasionally) · Balance, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, squat, grip, and grasp (occasionally) · Ability to aid children needing assistance, including lifting and changing diapers · Perform repetitive motions such as: typing, moving, and manipulating computer equipment *Position Type/Expected Hours of Work* This is a part-time non-exempt position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.
m.
to 6:00 p.
m.
During school vacation camps work hours will vary depending on duties assigned.
Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover staffing during school/camp hours.
*Travel* Very little travel is expected for this position .
*Required Qualifications* * Must be able to successfully pass mandated background checks, TB clearance, and other applicable state-mandated screenings * Experience working with children in a pre-school and/or school-age program * 12 ECE Units strongly recommended * Strong ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues via verbal and written correspondence * Some experience with planning and leading programs for groups of children * Strong enthusiasm for working with children * Ability to effectively engage and interact with children in a responsible and caring manner * Must be able to effectively collaborate with other school colleagues to facilitate a positive and productive experience for the children.
* Must have a patient, calm, and nurturing demeanor with children * Must be comfortable using basic computer systems, including email and G Suite/Google Apps * Must have working cell phone *Preferred Qualifications* * Bilingual a plus but not required *Additional Eligibility Qualifications* * Must be able to successfully pass State licensing and criminal background check.
